What we’ve been doing

As a district, we elected our leadership and approved our Plan of Work for the year. We do this process yearly to make goals for the year and review what happened last year. As Marxist-Leninists, we are scientific socialists and we take this time to reflect on the experiments we did last year, what worked, and what needs improvement in the year to come. One of our major decisions was to create an at-large collective for members who are too far from a club center to meaningfully participate. Our goal with this collective is to educate cadre who can launch new clubs and make sure there is useful work for everyone who joins. We’ve also had a huge number of new applicants and several new comrades have joined our ranks: welcome, comrades!

Materially, all of our clubs have been active in the ICE out of VA coalition work across the state, opposing war, and building the united front against fascism, everywhere. NoVA club has continued working with Reston Strong to support folks experiencing homelessness and participated several mass actions against ICE in Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria in collaboration with SURJ and FreeThemAllVA. Our Piedmont Club is continuing to work for tenants rights with RTU, and feeding the food insecure with MAD RVA. Tidewater is working hard on finding new avenues of donations for their food+ program and have expanded to a second location!

If you’d like to donate to provide food, toiletries, and warm items for people experiencing homelessness you can send funds using venmo or cashapp @vacpusa. Please say “Tidewater” in the description. 100% goes towards items for un-housed folks.

What we’ve been reading and learning

Our clubs have been reading the 2026 Party Program together and Foundations of Leninism. At the same time, our regular education program has tackled Intro to Communist History, Ethical use of AI, Intro to Partynomics, and Intro to Political Economy.

Sunday classes are open to all who wish to attend, and are generally oriented more towards newer people and theoretical aspects of Marxist education. If you’re interested in the party and not yet sure if you want to join, this is the place for you! To get access to the classes, fill out the Virginia join form and let us know in the comments that you’re only interested in education.

What we’ve been writing

Mike wrote about the ICE out of Alexandria Event https://vacpusa.org/2026/02/22/ice-out-of-alexandria-alexandria-council-public-hearing, one of many such events across the commonwealth as the people rise up to rid our streets of state violence from ICE.
