What we’ve been doing

All of our clubs attended several No Kings rallies with the purpose of providing information for folks to find organizing homes in active local orgs. Look out for a recap post on this soon! In addition, Piedmont (Richmond-area) club has been working with RVA community fridges and Richmond Tenants United to build up local worker power and dual-power. NoVA has continued our weekly commitment to supporting Reston Strong’s important work with houseless folks and meeting their needs when they are abandoned by the state. We’ve also been working on building a leftist coalition with many different local organizations to effect local change, like the ICE out coalitions. Our Tidewater club has similarly been doing great coalition building, focusing on DeFlock with DSA, learning to canvass, and keeping their ongoing food program strong. Finally, as a district we’ve been raising funds for People’s World, and we are doing an experiment where instead of an Appalachia club, we have an At-Large collective for anyone too-far from their local club to do in person work. The goal of this experiment is to see if we can foster new clubs and also make sure to give all members useful and important work.
